Feast Day Celebration: Yemaya & Oshun
Join us in celebrating the orishas Yemaya and Oshun. Yemaya is the power of the ocean, the Mother Of Fishes, the giver of life, and the abundance of the sea. Oshun is the essence of the river, the symbol of all that is sweet in life, fertility and motherhood, and the blood in our veins. In the Lucumi tradition Yemaya’s feast day is September 7th followed by Oshun’s on September 8th, therefore we will be honoring them together.
We’ll be presenting a modest throne and sharing food/refreshments. Guests are welcome to bring offerings to Yemaya and Oshun. Acceptable offerings include:
yellow, blue, or white candles
yellow, blue, or white flowers
fruits such as watermelon, oranges, papaya, apples, coconut, bananas, grapes, pineapple, guava, mango, etc.
honey, molasses
sweets such as cookies, cakes, pastries, etc.
perfume
yellow or blue fabric
seashells
champagne, sweet white wine, red wine

Elegua Feast Day
Join us in celebrating the orisha Elegua on his feast day. Elegua is the watcher, the warrior, the owner of the crossroads, and the one that opens our roads. We’ll be presenting a modest throne to Elegua and sharing food/refreshments. Guests are welcome to bring offerings to Elegua. Acceptable offerings include:
red candles
flowers
coconuts
rum
cigars
candy
sweets/desserts
palm oil
toasted corn
popcorn
toys
small drums
fruit

Obatala Drumming
Join us for an evening of worship in honor of Obatala. Obatala is the king in the mountain, the owner of white cloth, and the guardian of all heads. He represents wisdom, royalty, purity, and all things cool.
We will be playing a guiro (small drumming) to Obatala. All are welcome to attend. Please wear all white or light colors (no black). Guests are welcome to bring offerings. Acceptable offerings include:
white flowers
white candles
fruit
coconuts
cascarilla
cocoa butter
sweets and desserts
